In previous posts I have mentioned how tutors have said that my work would lend itself well to possibilities in retail products such as fabrics, tiles and so forth.
I have decided that I want to keep my Harena Now work solely as fine art; I feel the message behind it will be lost if I begin to use the images in a more commercial manner.
However, I have been experimenting with my other work, particularly my #365cyanotypechallenge images.
Below is an image of a few of the potential designs I am working on.
I am also looking into more ethically-conscious options. This may put the price up a tad but I am aware that the audience for such products will more than likely have a comfortable disposable income.
I hope that I can source a manufacturer that can meet my preferred environmentally-conscious requirements and my desire to ensure that most people feel they have the opportunity to purchase.
If I want to consider t-shirts, then Uk-based Teemill looks like a great option, while Contrado offers organic fabrics. A little more research in the next week or two and I hope to create a products section on my own website and/or externally using options such as Teemill.
